Solution

Massify citizenship education with a brand-new tool accessible from the age of 15: the Democracy Fresco! This easy-to-organize 3-hour collective intelligence workshop enables new generations to understand the complex workings of the French system, its importance in our daily lives and its weaknesses, and gives them the means to get involved.

Young people in the Hauts-de-France region get involved with the Fresque de la démocratie!

On Saturday March 16, Démocratie Ouverte was in Valenciennes for the Festival Provox organized by the Comité Régional des Associations de Jeunesse et d'Education Populaire (CRAJEP)! Bringing together young people, associations, companies and local authorities, the Festival helps promote the voice of young people in decisions and actions that concern them.

A total of 273 participants were on hand to discuss the place of young people, citizen participation initiatives and to lead a whole multi-actor network of participation and citizenship.

The perfect opportunity to reinvent citizenship education and encourage participant engagement by offering them the chance to play at the Democracy Fresco! The Démocratie Ouverte team facilitated a Fresque workshop with the youngsters, enabling them to discuss our democracy and ways of getting involved.

The money will be used for

Organize free workshops, especially for those who are furthest removed from our democratic system
Train volunteer Fresque animators on a massive scale
Improve the graphics and design of the tool and design communication materials for the general public
Produce Fresque animation kits for our volunteers and partners from popular education and youth networks
