Facilitating the inclusion of exiles in society

The project

Inclusion
Only 12% of exiles have the opportunity to talk to someone who is not paid to do so. This figure highlights a shortcoming: learning is often confined to a closed setting, with no real interaction with the host society, which is essential to progress in language and long-term integration. At Kipawa, we are convinced that all exiles must have the means to express themselves fully and take an active part in society.

Solution

That's why we've designed an innovative accompaniment program that facilitates meeting and doing together by combining French courses and volunteer work. Kipawa accompanies groups of 15 to 20 people for 4 months with 180 hours of French, conversation workshops and volunteer assignments in local associations (cooking, gardening etc.) according to participants' appetites and skills. Each year we accompany 60 people.

Use of the money

Donations are used to fund the 4-month program as it is free for each participant.

10€ = 1h French conversation class
20€ = 1 volunteer mission organized with a local association
50€ = 1 job remobilization and skills enhancement workshop
100€ = 1 week full program for one person
1500 € = The full 4-month program for 1 exiled person
"I'm really grateful because Kipawa has changed my life in France. Before Kipawa I was completely isolated, I didn't talk to anyone and I didn't leave my house. Kipawa changed all that and also made me feel less of a stranger. "
