Growing sustainable coffee to preserve the Amazon

Dear Difteur-ses 🌱, 📢 Fresh news from CUISCAF! Our local partner ECOAN is currently in the field to: ✅ Verify the zoning of plots in the conservation area! A key step to ensure that every part of the land is used in accordance with the project's objectives ✅ Run an awareness-raising workshop on the importance of this area among the beneficiaries 🌍 And that's not all! This year-end marks the launch of preparations for the plantings 2026 🌳: - In the nurseries:🔄 Transplanting, aligning and stacking bags 🌿 Planting seedlings in the two nurseries 🛠️ Maintenance of seedlings in production plots (ready in 8 months!) ♻️ Production of 3 tons of bokashi - At the beneficiaries:🏞️ Preparation of agricultural soil & collection of substrate .... To date, 82% of the seedlings have already been distributed to the 2 nurseries in Cuispes and El Porvenir, representing🌱 62,500 seedlings in total .... 🙏 A huge THANK YOU to all the planters of hope who support us 🌍💚 The Planète Urgence team

Dear Difteur-ses 🌱, Summer is in full swing... and it's harvest time! As mentioned above, beneficiaries are finally starting to harvest the coffee carefully grown in the first year of the project (2023)☕🌿 👉 This represents 3,360 kg of coffee, or the equivalent of 13,440 250g* sachets * the size of the packets found in our supermarkets The second-year plants (2024) are maturing. Some are already starting to produce flower buds 🌸In 2026, they'll bear their first fruit! ----------------------------------------- ℹ️ A job put to the test But behind these fine results lies the remarkable work of our teams, partners and local farmers 💪🌍 They face many challenges in the field, not least the drought, which makes it difficult to find seeds and water seedlings on the beneficiaries' cleared plots😓 To remedy this, a drip system has been installed on the plots, enabling more efficient and sustainable irrigation 🌾 Thank you again for supporting us!
