All over the world, CARE is working to sustainably strengthen women's rights and autonomy. In Tanzania, for example, women farmers are developing resilient practices in the face of climatic shocks and improving their food security. In Laos, they receive support to access international coffee markets and boost their incomes. In West Africa, women's groups are organizing to influence economic and political decisions.

Solution

CARE implements an integrated approach combining technical training (agriculture, management, marketing), structuring savings groups and cooperatives, and facilitating access to finance and markets. Programs also include strengthening women's leadership, advocacy actions and schemes to transform social norms and remove barriers to equality.

Use of the money

The donations will provide concrete support to beneficiaries: 38,400 farmers in Tanzania via agricultural and business training, 400 coffee producers including 70% women in Laos with access to markets and processing, or over 48,000 people in West Africa through savings groups and advocacy actions.
