The GroinGroin Refuge has been taking in around 100 pigs and other so-called farm animals since 2005, rescued from breeding, abandoned or mistreated, and offering them a peaceful life, far from any exploitation on 12 hectares of meadowland. By enabling the public to meet them and recognize their sensitivity and history, the refuge encourages a different way of looking at animals: seeing them as individuals in their own right, not as resources to be disposed of. The question of their exploitation and its impact on the environment then arises in its own right .
